Identifying Your Email Service Provider

Before you can send a message, you must configure eMail VOICELink to work with your email service provider.

To identify your email service provider:

  1. Start eMail VOICELink.
  2. Select Preferences from the Edit menu on the main window.
  3. Click the Mail tab.
  4. Enter the name of you mail server. Choose either SMTP or American Online Ver. 3.0 or 4.0 as shown in the figure below. If you do not know the name of your mail server see "How do I find the name of my SMTP server?" for more information.
  5. Click the Use Internet Config Values checkbox to automatically used the stored Internet information (SMTP server name, email address, etc.) from the Internet Config software.

    • To automatically update the values in Internet Config, select Update Local Preferences from IC Options or select Launch Internet Config to manually edit the values.

To enter your email address:

  1. Select Preferences from the Edit menu.
  2. Click the User tab.
  3. Enter your name and email address in the appropriate text box. This address is the one that appears as the return address in eMail VOICELink messages.
